Ghost Hunting; A Night at the Annison Funeral Parlour
Share
Our latest adventure took us to the Old Annison Funeral Parlour in Hull, a place steeped in history and mystery. Known for its eerie tales and unexplained phenomena, it’s a must-visit for anyone interested in the paranormal. Before diving into our investigation, our team met for a social meal to catch up and discuss the evening ahead. It was a great way to bond and set a positive tone for what was to come. It is said that the closer the team, the better then energy at the venue!
Arrival
Upon arriving at the venue, we were greeted by the staff, who shared their own experiences and the building’s chilling history. As we walked through the parlour, pointing out significant locations, the stories of Mary Jane Langley and the mysterious sounds of horse hooves became all the more real. The anticipation was palpable as we prepared for the night’s events.
Investigating Stable 2 & 1
We began our investigation in Stable 2, a location known previously to us for unexplained noises and uneasy feelings. Almost immediately, team members reported hearing faint sounds and experiencing a heavy atmosphere. The tension grew as we moved to the old embalming area, where one of our group members felt physically ill — a sensation that only lifted upon leaving the room. This area, with its dark history, seemed particularly charged, and the experiences here were among the night’s most intense.
After a short break, we all ventured into Stable 1, another hotspot for paranormal activity. Here, the group experienced more noises and even the sensation of being touched. On multiple occasions, we heard sounds resembling stable doors moving, despite no visible source. It was in this setting that the atmosphere felt thick with energy, suggesting that something—or someone—was trying to make contact. Cold spots circled around the room and everyone experienced chills.
The Embalming Room
The highlight of the night was a group séance. Members reported seeing eyes and shadows, and there was a moment of fright when even walking past a stair well, 2 of the team hear footsteps with clearly no one there. There was a heightened tension when an experienced investigator saw a small figure with glowing eyes who was growling—an experience corroborated by several others in the room. This encounter, while unsettling, provided compelling evidence of the paranormal activity at the Annison Funeral Parlour.
Though the night had quieter moments, the overall atmosphere was undeniably charged. The combination of personal experiences, audible phenomena, and visual sightings provided ample evidence for us to analyse. The Annison Funeral Parlour proved to be an enigmatic location with much more to explore.
We left the building with a mixture of excitement and a sense of unfinished business. There’s clearly more to uncover at this fascinating site, and we look forward to returning for a more in-depth investigation. Thank you to all our team members and subscribers for your continued support and enthusiasm. We’ll be sharing our findings and footage soon, so stay tuned!
Until next time, keep exploring the unknown and never stop searching for the truth.
Sincerely, The Paranormal Investigations Team
